Participant Checklist
✅ Before the Trip
□ Register in Advance via our groups.io forum board (you must be on the participant list)
□ Ensure are Up to Date with Membership Paperwork and Dues
□ Check Trip Details (know the meeting time, location, activity type, route, and estimated duration)
□ Assess Your Readiness:
- Physical ability for the planned activity
- Any injuries, allergies, or health conditions? Let the leader know
□ Pack Properly (gear needs may change depending on the activity — day hike, paddle, overnight trip, etc.):
- Appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and terrain
- Water (at least 1L)
- Snacks and/or lunch
- Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
- Any personal medications (e.g., EpiPen, inhaler)
- Daypack or dry bag
- Trip-specific items (e.g., swimwear, towel, extra layers, paddle gear, headlamp, shelter)
✅ At the Meeting Point
□ Arrive 5–10 minutes early and check in with the trip leader
□ Listen carefully to the safety briefing and trip plan
□ Ask questions if anything is unclear
□ Let the leader know if you have any concerns or limitations
✅ During the Trip
□ Stay with the group (use the buddy system if applicable)
□ Communicate any discomfort, fatigue, or issues
□ Be respectful of nature, trails, and other users
□ Follow Leave No Trace principles
□ No alcohol or substances during club outings
✅ After the Trip
□ Check out with the leader before leaving
□ Share feedback or photos if you’d like to contribute to the club community
□ Reflect and celebrate your effort—every outing helps build a stronger, healthier Cortes!
