Participant Checklist

Before the Trip

Register in Advance via our groups.io forum board (you must be on the participant list)
Ensure are Up to Date with Membership Paperwork and Dues
Check Trip Details (know the meeting time, location, activity type, route, and estimated duration)
Assess Your Readiness:

  • Physical ability for the planned activity
  • Any injuries, allergies, or health conditions? Let the leader know

Pack Properly (gear needs may change depending on the activity — day hike, paddle, overnight trip, etc.):

  • Appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and terrain
  • Water (at least 1L)
  • Snacks and/or lunch
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
  • Any personal medications (e.g., EpiPen, inhaler)
  • Daypack or dry bag
  • Trip-specific items (e.g., swimwear, towel, extra layers, paddle gear, headlamp, shelter)

At the Meeting Point

□ Arrive 5–10 minutes early and check in with the trip leader
□ Listen carefully to the safety briefing and trip plan
□ Ask questions if anything is unclear
□ Let the leader know if you have any concerns or limitations


During the Trip

□ Stay with the group (use the buddy system if applicable)
□ Communicate any discomfort, fatigue, or issues
□ Be respectful of nature, trails, and other users
□ Follow Leave No Trace principles
□ No alcohol or substances during club outings


After the Trip

□ Check out with the leader before leaving
□ Share feedback or photos if you’d like to contribute to the club community
□ Reflect and celebrate your effort—every outing helps build a stronger, healthier Cortes!
